About this work
Number 3 - 1948 shows a pale field with a few thin lines running through it. The lines move slowly and do not touch at the ends. Bradley Walker Tomlin worked in a style of post war abstract painting that leaves space between the marks.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The white frame gives the sheet a clean border against the wall. The frame edge stays separate from the painted lines and lets the pale tones sit on their own.
It fits on a narrow wall in a study. From the desk you see the long lines, and the white frame keeps them from drifting off the sheet.
