About this work
Number 7 Out of the Web 1949 by Jackson Pollock shows a field of thin lines and small spots moving across the surface. The lines run in different directions, some long, some short, with a few darker joins where one stroke meets another. The whole sheet reads as a web of quick gestures.
The picture arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. It can be sent ready to hang. The matte surface holds the thin lines and small spots without a shine, so the fine lines stay readable in normal light.
On a narrow hallway wall, the lines run along the length of the path. From the first step you take, the longest lines lead the eye forward, and the small spots fill the gaps between them.
