About this work
Oberweimar 1921 shows a small town built from sharp triangles and thin beams against a cloudy sky. Lyonel Feininger drew these broken shapes with pencil and wash, letting each roof point in a different direction. The buildings shift and overlap, so the streets look like they are turning in the wind.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger screwed to the back that fits straight onto a nail. You do not need to buy a frame. The sheet stays flat on the wall, and the thin lines keep their weight without a glass cover.
In a hallway with a narrow bulb overhead, the pointed roofs catch the glow and the flat walls stay dim. From the stairs you see the whole town at once, and the pencil lines read as separate strokes.
