About this work
Obsidian
A jagged black form dominates the canvas in Lee Krasner's Obsidian. This is not a gentle introduction, but a bold confrontation, an unapologetic declaration of presence and power.
The artwork is a study in contrasts, where the stark black form is set against a softer, almost ethereal background. The edges of the obsidian-like shape are sharp, irregular, creating a sense of tension and dynamism. The surrounding colors, a mix of soft whites and muted blues, provide a stark contrast to the dominant black, enhancing its impact.
This poster commands attention in a living room or study, where its bold contrasts can be fully appreciated.
