About this work
Oorlog 1930 shows torn paper fragments pasted in layers over a rough ground.
The cut edges leave short white lines where one piece overlaps another. Kurt Schwitters built his work from found scraps and refused a single clean surface.
The fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel, so the layered edges do not need glass to read clearly. You notice the rough ground first from the foot of the stairs, then the torn edges catch the low light as you climb.
