Out of Nowhere — Fine Art

Out of Nowhere - 1965 by Jeremy Moon uses a felt tip pen to draw thin lines across a white sheet. The marks move in several directions without building a clear shape. The eye follows the ink back and forth.

A fine art print keeps the ink on a matte sheet, so the dark lines hold their weight and the white ground stays open. The frame finish can follow the room, with a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

It works above a staircase where you pass it each day. From the lower step you notice the long runs of ink, and from the landing you see how the lines stop and start. The white wall keeps the drawing quiet and the black lines show up plain.
