About this work
The title Paris Review - 1966 names a sheet where a single band of thin colour moves across the open ground. Helen Frankenthaler poured paint that soaked into the sheet, leaving soft edges and a clear path left to right.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The work reads as a quiet study in one tone on a light field. A white frame gives the picture a straight edge on the wall.
The white wood keeps the light field open and sets the soft edge next to the room. It works well in a narrow hallway with a ceiling fixture on the left. From the end of the hall you see the single band, and the frame keeps the picture clear at that distance.
