Peacock Feather Still Life — Fine Art

Peacock Feather Still Life - 2009 shows a single feather laid on a plain ground. The paint builds in layers, with a dark eye at the centre and softer greens fading out along the shaft. The hand of Mary Fedden stays visible in the uneven edge of the colour.

This fine art print sits on a wall where the room light falls across the feather from the side. A light frame on a dark wall lets the greens read without glare, and the matte paper keeps the paint look flat and calm.

It works on the wall beside a desk in a study. From the chair you see the dark eye first, then the wash of green, while the quiet ground lets the feather hold its own shape.
