Pearlie

A flat band of warm tone sits against a cooler ground in Pearlie by Sam Gilliam. The two colour fields meet without a hard line drawn between them.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The painting uses a colour field approach where broad areas of tone carry the image. A white frame gives the picture a clean border on the wall.

The white edge keeps the warm band clear from the wall and the cooler ground stays open behind it. It works on a kitchen wall near a sink where the light changes through the day. From the doorway the warm band reads first and the cooler tone settles behind it.
