About this work
Pine Trees near the Wall of the Asylum holds a cluster of upright pines against a tall brick wall. The leaves run in green and yellow strokes, and the trunk lines lean inward. Vincent van Gogh built the scene with short paint strokes and a strong vertical feel.
The fine art print comes with a white finish or a dark wood finish. That frame edge gives the picture a clean line on the wall and keeps the bright leaves from blending into the room.
In a hall with a skylight, the tall trunks draw the eye up the passage. From the landing you see the green strokes and the shadow shapes on the brick. The print stays steady there day after day.
