Planos y color liberados — Fine Art

Planos y color liberados - 1947 shows flat colour bands in a few strong hues. The paint sits in clear shapes with hard edges where one colour meets the next. Vertical and angled planes divide the picture into separate fields of red, yellow and blue.

This fine art print keeps those edges sharp on a matte sheet, so the colour bands read without a shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall makes the planes sit forward, a dark frame on a pale wall holds them back.

On a bedroom wall near the door, you notice the red band first, then the yellow beside it. From the chair the shapes stay clear and the blue field stays calm.
