Pleasure Dome — Fine Art

Pleasure Dome sits in Miriam Schapiro practice as a painted space where colour blocks and stitched looking lines build a room of their own. The image works like a painted interior, with wide colour patches holding the eye and smaller marks giving the surface a hand made feel.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. That white edge keeps the painted room from spreading past its own lines, and the wood finish would settle the same shapes into a warmer corner.

On a bedroom wall, the painted room reads as a calm field of colour at the end of the day. From the doorway the big colour blocks hold the wall, and from the bed the small stitched looking lines show up one by one.
