Possum Dreaming — Fine Art

Possum Dreaming - 1985 shows a country story told through painted dots and joined lines on a flat ground. The marks move in a slow path across the sheet with open space between them. Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri built his painting practice around desert storytelling motifs and dot painting.

The fine art print uses matte paper so the pale tones stay soft and the surface reads plain under a lamp. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the line work stand out without competing with the sheet. The frame finish can follow the room around it.

On a hallway landing wall the picture reads as a quiet set of shapes. From the stairwell you notice the path of dots first, then the joined lines as you pass by.
