Promontory Palace — Fine Art

Promontory Palace by Yves Tanguy spreads across the sheet with long pale forms and a few darker spots near the bottom. The shapes look like rocks or strange objects seen from far away. A fine art print keeps those soft tones flat and steady on the paper.

The frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. White, wood, dark wood or black each set a different line against the pale ground. You notice how the frame edge holds the image without crowding the marks.

A hallway wall with a single lamp shows the pale forms from a distance. The darker spots catch the light first. You see the long shapes step by step as you walk past.
