Purple Petunias — Fine Art

Purple Petunias by Georgia OKeeffe shows petal forms in warm purple tones sitting over a plain painted ground. The colour sits against softer tones and the broad marks keep the form clear.

This fine art print uses matte paper so the purple stays even and there is no shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the flower form stand out, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture ties the room together.

In a kitchen near the sink, you notice the purple petals first, then the plain ground, and the small painted marks when you stand close. You see the petals and the plain ground at once, then the finer marks as you step closer.
