R5 — Fine Art

R5 - Abstract Expressionism uses broad colour fields and soft bands that slide across the sheet. John Cage worked in this abstract expressionism style, laying paint in large patches with room between them. The shapes stay open and the tones move gently from one area to the next.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The frame is available in white, wood, dark wood or black. A black frame gives this painting a firm line that holds the soft colour fields in place.

On a hallway wall near the front door, the wide bands read first, then the small gaps between them. From the stair landing you notice the tones shift as you pass. The black frame line stays steady while the paint areas change.
