About this work
Reciprocal Accords 1942 shows colour patches and small lines set over a pale ground. Warm tones sit near cool ones, so the shapes feel spaced apart. Wassily Kandinsky builds the field with loose strokes.
The frame finish is white, so the edge stays light and the colours do not get crowded. This fine art print keeps the soft transitions readable on the paper.
A dining room wall works if the light is indirect. From the doorway you notice the paler patches first, then the small lines as you move closer.
