Red and Blue Layers 1954 shows two colour areas pressed close together on the page. A red band runs along the lower edge while a blue shape fills the upper half. The space between them stays open and calm.

The fine art print arrives with a metal hanger fitted to the back. You place it straight onto a nail in the wall and the picture sits flat without a separate frame.

In a dining room the red edge catches the light from the table lamp while the blue field stays cool at night. From the doorway you notice the bare strip of white paper between the two bands.
