Rhythm Colour — Fine Art

Rhythm Colour by Sonia Delaunay uses strong colour planes that overlap in curved bands. The marks run across the page and shift from one hue to another, a method she used in her painting practice. The resulting effect reads as a steady pulse of colour rather than a single flat field.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

In a hallway with a pale wall and a skylight overhead, the curved bands pull the eye along the length of the passage. From the landing you see the broad strokes, and closer up the joins between the colour planes become clearer.
