About this work
Woodcut lines cut a path through a dark Adirondack hillside. A narrow road climbs toward a distant ridge while the forest holds its own sharp shapes.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The title Road to Asgaard Adirondack names that climb, and the whole image follows Rockwell Kent habit of carving strong forms out of black and white. He worked through woodcut prints and clear graphic shapes to turn a wild north country into a steady picture.
The metal hanger on the back fits onto a single nail, so the picture goes up without a frame. That setup keeps the line work facing the room, with the paper held flat against the wall.
