Rolled Wrongly 1931

Rolled Wrongly 1931 shows two flat bands stacked on the sheet. The upper band holds a warm tone and the lower one a cooler shade.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Josef Albers built these simple colour blocks to test how each tone shifts next to the other. The paper is matte, so the greys stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp.

A metal hanger is fitted to the back and it goes straight onto a nail. It works well on the wall in a study. From the desk you see the two colour bands, and the soft greys sit calm against the books.
