Sea Color — Fine Art

Sea Color shows loose colour bands laid across the sheet by Sam Gilliam. The blue and green paint spreads unevenly, with some areas thin and others heavy. A fine art frame gives the image a clean edge that sits flat on the wall.

The white frame finish keeps the border quiet, so the soft blue tones stay open and the darker marks read clearly. It works well on a hallway wall where you pass by during the day and notice the lighter wash first.

You see the broad colour field in the dining room, then the small gaps between the bands. The picture sits above the chair rail, where the sun hits it at an angle.
