A classroom chair tilts against a chalkboard scrawled with equations. This is *Seminar*, the 1971 collaboration between Dieter Roth and Richard Hamilton.
The chair’s wooden slats are rendered in dry, hatched lines, while the board behind it swarms with numbers, arrows, and half-erased Latin phrases. A single spotlight casts a sharp shadow, turning the scene into a stage set for an absent lecture. The palette is confined to graphite, chalk white, and the faintest wash of ochre.
Hang it above a desk or in a hallway where light glances off the paper—it rewards the glance with quiet mischief.
