Sevastipol

Sevastipol - 2003 shows flat colour areas that read as simple building shapes. The artist Doug Ohlson used broad planes of paint across a pale ground, a method he kept through his Australian geometric work.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The title points to a harbour town, and the image stays quiet with stacked forms. The paper is matte and the light greys stay soft without shine. It arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw.

No separate frame is needed. You can place it on a hallway landing wall where the broad planes sit above eye level and the small pencil marks come into view. The metal hanger holds the sheet level on one fixing.
