Shadows From the Portfolio Revolving Doors 1926 shows dark shapes and soft edges on a plain ground. The marks move across the surface like passing shadows. You see the pressure and speed of the hand in each stroke.

Man Ray worked with camera and darkroom methods. The print uses a fine art paper with a matte finish. The surface holds the greys without shine under a lamp.
