Smolbeck — Fine Art

Smolbeck by Karl Otto Gotz fills the print with layered washes and quick brush strokes. The colours sit in broad bands that overlap near the centre, and the edges break into small streaks. The marks seem to move across the field rather than stay still.

This fine art print uses a matte paper so the darker washes stay deep and the pale areas do not shine under a lamp. A dark frame keeps the edge clean against a pale wall, and the finish follows the room instead of pulling focus from the paint surface.
