About this work
A square field holds a soft band of tone near the middle, the rest of the paper stays quiet. Square 16 - 1962 by Wojciech Fangor follows the measured colour field work he made in the post war period. The eye reads the single shift before anything else.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fixed to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No extra frame is needed.
It suits a stairwell landing where the wall runs long and the ceiling narrows. From the top tread you see the quiet square and the single tone shift. The metal hanger sits flat behind the print, so the edge stays close to the plaster.
