Squares — Fine Art

Squares by Sonia Delaunay sets a grid of coloured blocks across a flat page. The marks sit side by side, with edges that meet without blending. The picture stays in the rhythmic colour work Delaunay repeated through her paintings and objects.

The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. That choice makes the coloured blocks sit on the fine art print the way they sit on the page.

Along the kitchen wall, the colour squares hold up under the bright work lamp. The dark frame joins the timber cupboards, and the flat colour stays clear when you wipe the counter.
