About this work
Station in The Hague sets a railway station against a flat Dutch sky. Cool blues and greys meet the brown of the tracks and the warm tones of the buildings. Vincent van Gogh placed the lines of the platform straight and firm. The scene stays calm, with no people in sight.
A fine art print keeps those cool blues clear and the browns steady. Choose a white frame for a clean edge that lets the open sky breathe, or a dark wood frame to hold the heavy tones of the tracks.
On a kitchen wall, the blue sky reads first from the doorway. Up near the sink you notice the short marks along the platform edge and the thin rails crossing the foreground.
