Still Life with Basket of Apples to Lucien Pissarro — Fine Art

Still Life with Basket of Apples to Lucien Pissarro places a woven basket and round fruit near the centre of the picture. Vincent van Gogh sets the apples down in loose paint strokes with red and yellow tones. The space around the fruit stays open so the shapes hold the eye.

The fine art print runs on matte paper, which keeps the reds and yellows soft when the light comes from a side lamp. A dark frame finishes on a pale wall, or a wood frame sits beside wooden furniture in the room.

It works on a dining room wall above a table. From the chair you see the basket first, then the colour of each apple.
