Still Life with Oranges 1931 — Fine Art

Oranges sit in a bowl on a table in Still Life with Oranges 1931. The fruit fills the front of the picture. Empty space sits behind the bowl, leaving room for the eye to rest.

The paper is matte, so the orange tones stay soft and the painted marks do not gleam under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the bowl stand out, and a dark frame on a pale wall grounds the still life.

This fine art print works on a kitchen wall near the stove, where warm light falls across the fruit. From the table you see the orange circles clearly. The frame follows the wood of the cabinet beside it.
