About this work
Strahlen 1929 shows bright rays of colour moving across the sheet. Wassily Kandinsky set these lines to meet and overlap. The shapes push toward the centre and then pull back. Each ray carries a different tone, so the surface feels active and open.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. A white frame, a wood frame, a dark wood frame or a black frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. The frame finish changes how the bright marks sit against the room. A dark wood frame keeps the rays sharp against a plain surface.
In a kitchen, the bright rays catch the morning light on the wall near the table. From the doorway you see the moving lines first, then the small changes in tone as you pass the counter.
