About this work
Sugar Bowl and Earthenware Bowl puts two simple containers side by side. One holds white sugar, the other is a rougher clay bowl. Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted them with warm brown and cream tones against a plain background. The form of Pierre-Auguste Renoir uses short separate brush touches.
The fine art print uses a matte paper so the painted surface stays flat under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the cream tones stand out without a shine. The frame finish can follow the room you choose.
It fits a dining room wall above a wooden table. From the chair you notice the warm brown bowl first, then the small sugar bowl beside it.
