Sulphur Bank Hoarfrost 1974 — Fine Art

Sulphur Bank Hoarfrost 1974 by Robert Rauschenberg mixes paint and printed matter on a single surface. Cool whites and pale blues sit beside darker transfer marks and rough brush strokes. The picture reads like a winter bank with frost on it.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the pale blue tones flat and stops a shine under a lamp.

It settles on a narrow stairwell wall where the steps pass by twice a day. From the landing you notice the cool white field first, and from the bottom step the small transfer marks stand out.
