Summer Insignia

Summer Insignia - 1969 uses poured colour laid across a sheet. Helen Frankenthaler worked with thin washes that soak into the fibre and leave soft edges. The marks spread and settle without a hard outline. You see open colour fields rather than a drawn shape.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. It arrives assembled when you use the ready to hang option. The matte surface keeps the painted colour flat so the washes do not catch a glare under a lamp.

It hangs in a narrow corridor near the front door. You walk past and notice the wide coloured bands first, then the faint edges where one wash meets the next.
