Summer Play by Lee Krasner

Two figures tumble across the canvas in Summer Play. Their limbs blur into arcs of lemon and coral, as if caught mid-leap or mid-laugh. Krasner layers translucent washes over charcoal underdrawing. The left figure dissolves into a haze of ochre, while the right anchors the scene with a solid band of cobalt. Brushstrokes flicker like sunlight on water, quick and uneven. A single black line traces the horizon, grounding the frolic. Hang it above a low credenza where its warmth can bounce off pale wood and soften the evening light.
