Sunset Silhouette — Fine Art

Sunset Silhouette shows a dark shape set against a bright sky. The sky moves from warm tones near the horizon into cooler tones above. Eyvind Earle built his pictures with clean outlines and flat colour patches. The picture uses a hard edge between the dark form and the sky.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. On the wall you see the light hit the colour bands from across the room. The dark shape stays solid while the sky glows softly. You notice the edge first, then the sky behind it.

The matte paper keeps the bright sky from shining under a lamp. From the doorway the dark shape reads as a single shape against the light. Up close the colour changes in the sky become clear.
