About this work
Suuch Khan Crimea by Ivan Shishkin (1879)
A rocky hillside rises steeply in Suuch Khan Crimea. This is the rugged beauty captured by Ivan Shishkin, a master of landscape realism. The scene is alive with texture, from the rough stone to the sparse, resilient vegetation clinging to the slope.
Shishkin's precise brushwork renders each rock and tuft of grass with almost scientific accuracy. The palette is earthy, dominated by ochres and umbers, with subtle hints of green where life persists. The composition draws the eye upward along the slope, creating a sense of scale and grandeur.
This poster brings a piece of the wild into any space. It suits rooms with natural materials and neutral tones.
