The upper stripe is thin, almost translucent, while the lower one widens and softens at the edges, letting the color beneath seep through. A faint vertical stroke of slate gray cuts the center, grounding the otherwise floating washes. The paper’s tooth catches the pigment in places, giving the surface a quiet texture.
