The Beyond 1938

The Beyond 1938 shows a painted ladder that climbs past the top edge of the image. The steps are even and the rails run straight into empty wall space. Rene Magritte paints the rungs with a steady hand and the paint stays smooth on the ground.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang on a nail or screw. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and keeps the print flat against the wall. The paper is matte so the painted steps hold their even tone without shine.

It fits on a narrow landing wall. From the bottom of the stairs you see the ladder run straight up past the frame. The even rungs stay clear against the pale painted ground.
