The Egg — Fine Art

A round yellow form rises from a plain ground in The Egg. The surface holds a smooth painted layer with a clear outline. Tarsila do Amaral often worked in Brazilian modernism with bold colour and simple shapes. The image reads as a single form against an open field.

The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black and gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the yellow tones bright around the border. A black frame sets the form apart from the wall behind it.

In a kitchen above the sink the round shape catches the morning light from the side window. You notice the smooth colour first, then the neat outline around it. The form stays steady through the day.
