About this work
The End 28 2003 by Edward Ruscha puts one painted word across a plain band of tone. The letters run left to right in a steady row, with open space on either side. Most of the sheet stays quiet around the text. The word does not break apart.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print is coated for a smooth surface, so the painted word sits without shine. A light frame on a dark wall lifts the line, while a dark frame on a pale wall keeps the tone steady.
It works on the stairwell wall near the landing, where the short steps carry you past the letters. From there you see the painted word before you notice the quiet paper around it.
