About this work
The Flowing Hair 1952 uses a few long lines to suggest hair moving across the sheet. The lines run down the page in a loose rhythm. Henri Matisse made the drawing with a quick hand and left the paper open. The work belongs to his late drawn studies.
This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The print sits flat behind the glass so the drawn lines stay sharp. You can hang it ready to hang when the back panel is fitted.
On a bedroom wall the long lines catch the morning light. From the doorway you see the soft white ground first, then the dark strokes near the centre.
