About this work
The Golden Sail 1903 shows a large sail shape on a soft ground. Blue and grey tones sit near a warm yellow patch. Wassily Kandinsky placed the marks so the eye moves from one to the next. The picture reads as a simple composition built on colour and form.
This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. The paper stays matte, so the yellow stays warm and the blue does not glare. You get a finished object with the back panel included.
In a kitchen it sits on the wall over the sink. From the doorway you notice the yellow patch first, then the sail shape. The frame hides the edges and the back panel keeps it flat.
