The Green Earth 1980

A green field sits inside The Green Earth 1980, with hazy bands laid across it. The eye moves from one band to the next, and the space around them stays open. Victor Pasmore worked in abstract constructions and painted plans for space.

This fine art piece keeps the green tone steady on a matte sheet, so the hazy bands do not go hard or shiny. A black frame gives the image a clear edge on the wall and keeps the pale areas from spreading outward.

On a narrow landing wall, the green field reads plainly from the stair. The frame edge holds the picture in place, and the hazy bands stay quiet under the ceiling light.
