About this work
Wide open washes spread across the sheet in The Human Edge, 1967-. A soft border breaks the colour into a quiet shape near the edge.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Helen Frankenthaler lets the paint soak into the paper and stop where it wants. Helen Frankenthaler worked in the soak stain method that leaves the paper showing through. The metal hanger on the back goes straight onto a nail.
You do not need a frame, and the picture goes up fast. The picture reads from the far end of a hall, then the edges appear when you stand closer. From the doorway the broad wash fills the view, and the soft border stays quiet.
