About this work
The Mill at Kelf 1894 shows a mill building set among trees and open ground. Theo van Rysselberghe used fine dots and short strokes to lay down the sky and the fields. The scene holds soft greens and a pale sky, with the building sitting on the land.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The paper is matte, so the small paint marks stay flat and the greens do not shine under a lamp. You can see the dots and strokes without glare when you stand a few steps away on the stairwell.
It works on a pale bedroom wall, set at shoulder height. From the bed you notice the mill shape and the quiet tree line, and the light stays even on the surface.
