The River 1912 — Fine Art

The River 1912 uses thick parallel strokes to carry a water scene across the sheet. The marks press harder on one side and ease off on the other, so the paint sits in uneven bands. Andre Derain built the surface with repeated short passages rather than a smooth wash.
