The Sideboard 1917 — Fine Art

A table corner fills the picture with stacked planes of colour. The Sideboard 1917 arranges a few objects on a broad painted field, built in the clear outlined way Juan Gris used. Colours sit in separate shapes with thin drawn edges.

A fine art print keeps the painted surface flat and even. The light frame matches a pale wall so the thin lines read clearly under a steady lamp.

It hangs on the dining room wall near the corner, where the seated view catches the broad shapes first. From the table you notice the thin dark edges against the warm ground.
