Time Before History

Time Before History by Sam Gilliam opens with broad colour washes spread across the sheet. The paint runs in loose bands that do not line up neatly.

A few thin lines cross the field at an angle. The work sits inside a fine art frame with a back panel. You get the print set in the frame when you choose ready to hang.

The surface is flat and the colours read as a single layer. It suits a reading corner where the light stays even. From the chair you notice the uneven edges first, then the pale ground behind them.

As a guide: 40×50 cm suits a desk or small wall, 50×70 cm sits well above a sofa or bed, and 70×100 cm anchors a room as a focal piece. If you'd like advice for your space, send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a size.

For your country, this piece is estimated at 5 to 8 business days from the moment you order, including production, with free tracked delivery. Every piece is made to order by the print partner closest to you; framed pieces take a little longer because each one is framed and checked before dispatch. These are estimates, and there is no express option. Full country-by-country ranges are on our estimated delivery times page, and you can see exactly how your piece is packed.

If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order number, and keep all packaging. We will send a free replacement at no cost to you. See our refund policy for the full process.
